FUND RAISERS

Bingo continues to be the club's major form of fund raising activity. The South Club is currently acknowledged as the leading manager and organizer of bingo locally; Several organizations, service clubs and schools draw on this expertise gleaned from years of experience in this form of fund raising. Just over three year ago the club acquired its own bingo equipment and this has allowed the more frequent staging of these events. The equipment rented or leased to others on occasion, thus generating additional revenue. Proceeds from bingo are used to fund other club projects.

Sherbourne Conference Centre is still the popular venue for this activity and is attractive for its ambiance and comfort. Its central location gives the many Bingo patrons in Barbados easy access.

The most recent activity was a charity bingo to assist the Barbados Blind Cricketers' Association in their quest to raise funds for their World Cup Competition later this year(2006) in South Africa.

Other fund raising efforts include in-house auctions during the club's fellowship meetings, fish frys and cake sales.
